Qualifications and posts

Chris Khoo is an Exhibitioner of Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge where he took his first degree in 1969.

After clinical training at St Mary’s Hospital Medical School, London, he qualified medically with the MB BChir degree from Cambridge University, and was also granted the degree of MA in 1972.

He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS) in 1977. In 1981, he gained Specialist Accreditation in Plastic Surgery, and was awarded the Kay-Kilner Prize of the British Association of Plastic Surgeons.

He acquired Specialist Registration in Plastic Surgery in the States of Jersey in 2002.

He has been honoured with the award of the Fellowship ad hominem of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, FRCS(Ed).


He was appointed to his first Consultant post at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Aylesbury at the age of 33. He ran the regional Burns Unit, and had consultant sessions at Northampton, High Wycombe, Milton Keynes and Reading.

From 1983 to 2007, he was Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Wexham Park Hospital, in the Heatherwood and Wexham Park NHS Trust. His associated sessions included those at St. Mark’s Hospital Maidenhead, The Chalfonts and Gerrard’s Cross Hospital in Buckinghamshire, and a specialised Hand Clinic at the Bracknell Outpatient Centre.

He was in independent practice at the Hand Clinic, Windsor and the Bridge Clinic, Maidenhead, until 2017.


Chris Khoo served as a media spokesman on his areas of specialised interest for the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS). He has been featured on BBC radio and television news and documentary programmes, Sky news, ITV and Channel 4 documentaries. He is regularly consulted for comment from print media.
